Microsoft Word has allowed me to do almost all of my schoolwork starting as early as 1st grade. I have used Microsoft Word for essays, responses to questions, to create study guides, and so much more. I have seen my teachers use Microsoft to make exams, take attendance, make worksheets for class, as well as make homework. Microsofts possibilities are honestly endless, and for that reason it is such a strong classroom tool.

My experience with copyright for the most part as been good throughout my years as a student. I have made sure to be very careful to not commit plagiarism because I know the severity of the repercussions of it. As a teacher, I would instill in my students the severity of plagiarizing. Through instructional materials I would show my students how to properly use sources for their schoolwork assignments. For example, I would use a mock source to show them how to properly use the information at hand, while still making sense of what they are talking about.

The three technology implementation issues I chose were, Academic Honesty, Copyright, and Cyberbullying. As for Academic honesty, I would make students sign contracts as they do now but also make them feel that their individual work is unique and important and a reflection of them and who they are. In terms of copyright, I would also make students sign a contract to ensure they were standing fully behind their work. I would use integrity to persuade my students to act honestly within the classroom. I personally feel that when a teacher makes things personal it connects more with the student. Lastly, in terms of Cyberbullying, I would make students get to know their classmates on a more intimate level through a workshop. With the workshop I would make students dig a little deeper than the surface and bring up topics that may be a little bit harder to talk about to make sure they know the importance of never bullying someone. This tactic would focus on how such a small topic can bring so much emotion. This will remind students to think twice before intentionally hurting someone else.

  1. Copyright is more than plagiarism. It is about fair use of other people's intellectual property. Plagiarism is the red line but there is also a gray area that is surely not plagiarism but might be using IP without giving property credit. It is all about respecting other people's work and effort.
